Prof. Gracjan Michlewski Represents RACE at the Horizon Europe Conference in Warsaw

Prof. Gracjan Michlewski from IIMCB represented the RACE project at the conference “Research – Development – Innovation: Horizon Europe and the New Era of European Competitiveness”, held on 21–22 October 2026 in Warsaw.
Organised by the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes at the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), the event brought together over 400 representatives of academia, public administration, business, and the innovation sector. Discussions focused on the future of European research and innovation funding beyond 2027, strengthening international collaboration, and enhancing Poland’s role and competitiveness within the European Research Area.
On 22 October, Prof. Michlewski, who leads Work Package 1 of the RACE project, participated in the panel discussion “Centres of Excellence in Poland – Polish Teaming Club: How Can We Harness This Potential Together?” The panel explored how Polish Centres of Excellence established through the Teaming initiative can better leverage their collective potential, strengthen cooperation between research institutions, and increase their impact on the national research and innovation ecosystem.
Prof. Michlewski’s participation contributed to RACE’s policy-shaping activities under WP6, supporting dialogue with key stakeholders on research excellence, international cooperation, and the future of research and innovation policy. It also provided an opportunity to highlight RACE’s role in strengthening IIMCB as a Centre of Excellence in RNA and Cell Biology and advancing Poland’s position in the European research landscape.
